What is Permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is a skin pigmentation technique that applies ink 0.01 mm – 0.03 mm under the skin using small needles. Although permanent makeup is similar to tattoos, permanent makeup is applied to a very shallow region in the dermis and thus, unlike tattoos, permanent makeup fades over time. The rate that the permanent makeup fades depends on a person’s skin type.

Importance of design
Our aim is to make the permanent makeup look natural on you rather than having it seem like an obvious change. The final look will not be overbearing, and you may not be able to tell exactly what makes you look different, though you will love the look.
The first treatment is important since it determines 90% of the finished look. The rest 10% consists of color and technique.
Our faces are usually asymmetrical. This is caused by many reasons, such as saggy skin due to aging, certain muscles in the face used repeatedly, and so on. At Chubby, we closely examine the position of your eyebrows in relation to your face and position your eyebrows as symmetrically as possible. This symmetry is not always straightforward, since sagging and loosening skin of the eyelids can cause considerable differences between the shapes of the left and right eyelids. In this way, we at Chubby do more than just ‘paint in’ your eyebrows; we also adjust the symmetry of your eyebrows to give you a balanced-looking face.

--What is permanent makeup?
It is called “permanent,” but actually it will gradually fade away. The rate of the fading is dependent on each person’s skin characteristics and the area where the treatment was done.
--What eyebrow shape looks best on me?
Everyone looks a little different in pictures from what they look like in real person. We will decide together the best, natural look for you during the consultation by looking at your facial characteristics and at photos of you.
--I have had permanent makeup done before. Can you fix it?
It depends on the permanent makeup that was done before. If the makeup is too dark, we may recommend that you remove the permanent makeup by laser at a clinic.

My name is Ms. Higa. I am a permanent makeup artist and the owner of Chubby. I became interested in permanent makeup while working at a beauty salon, which led me to Osaka where I entered ASHIYA Academy to learn permanent makeup techniques. I graduated in 2006, and, with my diploma in hand, returned to Okinawa to start working in a plastic surgery clinic as a nurse. During that time, I started Chubby, my very own beauty salon.
